OpenAI releases GPT-6.1 Sol
OpenAI’s upgrade to GPT-6 Sol nearly matches flagship GPT-6 Astra on coding, computer use and professional work at about one-fifth of Astra’s standard API token prices. Cached input is $0.10 per million tokens. It is available in ChatGPT Work and Codex for Plus through Enterprise users, and via the API as gpt-6.1-sol.
What it means for manufacturers and fabricators
Near-flagship capability at a fifth of the price makes day-to-day AI agents for estimating, document Q&A and multi-step office workflows much more affordable to leave running.
