China's LEVEL AI turns one machining drawing into a quote, process card, schedule and inspection sheet, and open-sources its model

At the China International Industry Fair in Shanghai, LEVEL AI showed an order workbench for custom machine shops where quoting, process planning, scheduling and inspection agents all work from the same drawing, so a change in one place flows downstream. Visitors brought their own drawings and got a quote and delivery estimate on the spot; more than 1,000 tried it. It also released LevelField-2, a free 9-billion-parameter model trained on more than 100,000 drawing sets, which writes process cards from a shop's own machines, tooling and stock for a process engineer to check.

What it means for manufacturers and fabricators

This is the drawing-to-quote work most fabricators still do by hand and in Excel. Steel drawings differ from machining ones, but the pattern of one drawing driving the quote, routing, schedule and QC is exactly what purpose-built software can do for your shop.
