Lantek v46 adds AI-assisted quoting and a Tekla PowerFab link for structural steel fabricators

Lantek, which makes cutting, nesting, MES and ERP software for sheet metal, tube and structural steel shops, said on October 7 it will launch v46 at FABTECH in Las Vegas (October 21-23, booth C6037). Its iQuoting tool now imports single 3D parts or full assemblies, checks whether each geometry can actually be made on the shop's machines, and applies the shop's own routes, resources and costing rules. Lantek says much of this runs on KAI, its AI technology, which analyzes manufacturing information, interprets design data and automates complex decisions in the quoting workflow. For structural steel and profile fabricators, v46 also adds a new integration linking Tekla PowerFab's MES-MRP environment with Lantek's programming software, alongside its existing StruMIS connector.

What it means for manufacturers and fabricators

If you run PowerFab, this is another sign the software around it is starting to connect to it directly, and quoting is where AI is showing up first, so at FABTECH ask how much of a real assembly quote KAI handles without anyone retyping it, and what it flags for your estimator to sign off.
